Sheet Music Stand II
2020
Constructed of pentaglone, brass, and lucite
The Sheet Music Stand is part of a series called “Music Through Time.” The passing of time reflects the longevity of the wood used and the perseverance of music through history. The dense hardwood used in this cross-section shows hundreds of years of life in the rainforest - a time filled with the vibrant cacophony of untamed life as rain rhythmically pounds vegetation and orchestral echoes of wildlife cut the air. This piece holds constructed music and resonates with the intrinsicality between sound and nature.

Annular Platter
2018
Made from the cross-section of a Pentaglone stump, this centerpiece highlights the annular growth lines representing hundreds of years of life in the rainforest. Meticulous fine-finishing work achieves an almost glass-like finish, which contrasts the viewer's reflection with the age of this tree.

Invictus Vessel
2016
Carved from the center of a Pentaglone stump, this bold piece is meant to induce a feeling of weight. Its thick rim and hand-routed center represents the strength of the wood and its dominant presence in the rainforest. “Invictus,” meaning undefeatable, alludes to the perseverance of this species throughout time.
